Usually most of the starters recommend 6 to 8 hours with 8 hours in the. I tried several starters and if you follow the instructions never can go wrong. Usually most of the starters recommend 6 to 8 hours with 8 hours in the fridge the bolgari instead advise to incubate for 4 to 6 hours so i tried 4 hours and the result was a creamy and thick yogurt i believe the time depends the kind of yogurt you want more or less sour i also i tried the scd yogurt which takes 24 hours incubation. It’s important to me the specific bacteria in bolgari or other bulgarian yogurt starter as i don’t want bifidus bacteria in my yogurt.

Use this culture all the time & it never disappoints. Here are the specifications for the Natural Probiotic Selection Yogurt Starter Culture ”BOLGARI” – Pack of 7 Freeze Dried Sachets:

After draining the lot it made the best cream cheese – yielding appr 1/2 kg (1 pound). I was a bit dissapointed to see the yoghurt made with this sachets a bit too liquid (1 sachet per 2l of milk)however, after draining the lot it made the best cream cheese – yielding appr 1/2 kg (1 pound). It was smooth and most delicious, better than stuff from the shop.

Only tried it once, worked well so will use it again.

Made divine almond milk yogurt. It took me 4 attempts to finally succeed in making yogurt with almond milk, but the seller was incredibly helpful. I am severely lactose intolerant so using a mammalian milk as a starter culture was not an option. If you want to make almond milk yogurt, you will need to follow these steps pretty strictly. Make your own almond milk fresh to use in your yogurt. Do not use shop bought almond milk. Before you make the milk or the yogurt pour boiling water over your cooking equipment to reduce chances of bad bacteria killing the culture. Make almond milk by taking finely blending 1 cup of almonds to 2. Use cheese cloth to filter away pulp from almond milk. Do not soak the almonds in advance. Just pour boiling water over them to quickly sterilise them. Gently heat and gently stir the almond milk on the stove not microwave so it is lukewarm. Keep your finger in the milk and when it doesn’t feel cold or warm to the touch it is ready. Do not over heat the almond milk as it can chemically change the milk. Stir in a tablespoon of honey or sugar, and a sachet of culture. The bacteria needs the sugar to feed. Don’t be tempted to reduce the sugar content. Transfer your cultured sweetened almond milk to your yogurt maker.

Makes great coconut milk yoghurt. You’ll need to follow a receipe to ensure it doesn’t separate. My favourite is from floandgrace. The packaging arrived damaged in the post, but the contents are well protected in individual sachets, so no harm done.

  • YOGURT CULTURE STARTER PACK

So if you want to home prepare a classic bulgarian yogurt, please use this original product. Keep in mind that 1 package must be used only for up to 5 litres of milk and to not be reused in case of preparing less milk.

Good product, and good customer service. I’ve used one of the sachets, which worked well, and have made a second batch using some of the reserved yoghurt from the first batch. I especially liked that the company sent me some literature by e-mail even before i received the product about yogurt-making in general, and the best way to use their starter culture. For instance, i learned new info about which types milk are best used.
